Saturday Morning Mathematics Sessions for 2017

The dates for the first semester are:
  • Feb 25
The first session will have an emphasis on preparation for the Hamann School Mathematics Competition run by the Mathematical Association of South Australia.
  • Mar 18
  • May 13
  • June 17

If you are unable to attend the first session, please register online as non-attending to ensure that you continue to receive notifications.

Held at the University of Adelaide's North Terrace Campus, Saturday Maths Problem Solving is an opportunity for students in years 7 to 11 who are interested in developing their problem-solving skills in mathematics beyond the school curriculum. Problem solving opportunity in Mathematics - for students who are keen to develop skills and knowledge beyond the school curriculum. 

The sessions assist students of like interests and abilities to:

 Find friendship, inspiration and encouragement while working on, thinking about and solving non-standard (sometimes complex problems)

 Build up a tool chest of strategies which will enable them to solve problems they have never seen before.

 Become flexible and creative in their approach to solving problems. All students are required to bring paper, pen and a calculator. Morning tea will be provided.

The sessions are run by fully qualified educators.
